MAJOR INGREDIENTS INCLUDE:
Makabuhai (Tinospora rumphii Boerl) – the whole plants contain the bitter principle columbin, picroretine, traces of berberine glucoside and alkaloids. It is considered as a universal medicine. It helps treat the stomach trouble, indigestion, diarrhea and malaria. It is tonic and used as febrifuge(lower’s fever)
Gabi or Taro (Colascasia esculental (Linn.) Schott & Endl.) – it has carbohydrates and vitamin B. it is used as a digestive , laxative, and diuretic.
Luyang dilau or Tumeric.(Curcuma Longa Linn.) – it is goog source of phosphorous and iron and fair source of calcium. It is used as aromatic, stimulant, tonic antispasmodic, carminative, astringent and anthelmintic. It is administered in intermittent fevers and is used for dispelling flatulence, dyspepsia, and weak state stomach. It is used against colic, amenorrhoea, diarrhea, dysentery and congestion.
Luya or Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) – contains aromatic volatile oils,gingerol, gingerin, and resins. It is use as stomachic, carminative, diaphoretic,diuretic, stimulant
especially in flatulence and comic vomiting spasms and other painful affections of the stomach.it is also effective in rheumatism, colds, asthma, dyspepsia and indigestion.
Squash or kalabasa (Curcurbita maxima Duchesne) – is an excellent source of vitamin B, vitamin A, iron, phosphorous, and calcium. It is a haemorrhanges from the pulmonary organs. It is also as virmefuge, anthelmintic, urinary diseases and diuretic in gonorrhea.
Carrots (Daucus carota Linn.) – contains volatile and fixed oils, carotene, lecethin, phospatide, glutamine, mellic acid, pectin, aspargenine, and inosite. It is a good source of calcium, iron, phosphorous, fair source of vitamin B, contains vitamin A2, B2, C2, G1.carrots have the beneficial effects in a kidneys and it prevents the brick – dust sediment sometimes found in urine. It is said to cleanse the blood. It is a popular remedy for jaundice. It is also considered as nervine tonic. And is given in uterine pain. It is recommended for chronic diarrhea.
Kalamansi (Citrus microcarpa Bunge) – it is a rich source of vitamin C, contains alderhydes, sesquiterpines, linalool, tannins, and cyanogetic substances.it is used as carminative and as remedy for coughs.
Kamatis or Tomato – (Lycopercium esculentum Mill) – it is good source of iron, phosphorous, vitamin A, D, and D. it is used as a promoter of gastric secretion and blood purifier. It is considered as intestinal antiseptic due to natural acids which has cleansing effect in the alimentary canal and keeps our stomach and intestines in condition.
